I Do Dream

Yes I am a human,
And I do dream.

Dream of success and happiness,
Dream to build a better tomorrow.

A tomorrow with no worries,
Tomorrow build on exponential path.

But, path is uncertain and tough,
Path- the less or untravelled.

Untravelled roads are my life,
Untravelled journeys give a confidence.

Confidence at times get shattered,
Confidence is questioned by own fears.

Fears of failures and falling back,
Fears of unknown future & mocking society.

Society which gives free advice without asking,
Society which has a book of own perceptions.

Why? Why I need to confirm perceptions,
Why I can't have my own ideas?

An idea which has a free spirit,
Idea which explores and unravel the truth.

Truth which is unbiased,
Truth- moved by dreams and desires.

A desire to prove myself,
Desire which is pure and intoxicating.

Intoxicating so that I overcome my fears,
Intoxicating so that I may not loose focus.

Focus to aim, prepare, stand and hit,
Focus to trust thyself and be headstrong.

Headstrong to not succumb to adversity,
Headstrong to rise again when none believes.

Belief- an ingredient at times missing,
Belief vanishes when in fear and self-doubt.

Self-doubt, a boulder in success,
Self-doubt- an enemy of human.

Yes I am a human who fears,
But also a human who is proud.

Proud of own dreams and hidden potentials,
Proud of experiences learned from failures,
Proud of observing life of austerity and adventure,
Proud of passing through the zigzag maze,
Proud of being a self built warrior,
Proud to shape own future and shine again.

Decide, what you want?

It’s been more than three months approximately and the whole world is still trying to combat a pandemic crisis. Time has been tough and challenging for us. Sometimes it feels like time has stopped.

But time is a great healer. With each day passing on, it is significant that we will succeed. After all each dark night is followed by a bright morning. We must hold our hopes tighter. It’s natural to fear, it’s okay to loose courage, but be like a warrior and rise again. Your fear and lows must not pull you deep down, but you must take a flight to the high sky.

I believe that every situation or exposure teaches us the golden rules of life. This global crisis is also providing us few learnings which if are adopted can make a better tomorrow.

Humans, with the aid of technology off lately started taking things for granted especially the nature and it’s other factors. If we analyze the past few years, the nature has been warning us by some natural calamities like forest fires, sea upsurge, uneven climate and rains, rising extreme temperatures, high levels of pollution etc. But we have adapted to a habit of ignoring small signs of warning. Why? Because we somewhere believe that we are sufficiently powerful to deal with anything. Nature for humans was a thing at their disposal. We forgot that we beings were a part of nature and not it’s owners. We must respect it and live in harmony, instead we exploited nature and our fellow beings devastatingly.

So, with a very microscopic creature named Coronavirus, nature has reminded us about our role on Earth. It showed that no matter how many weapons we manufacture or advancements are done in technology, we still are the part with limited powers.

The result is for the past few months, humans are caged in open prisons called homes and nature and its fellow beings are out in open. The highly ambitious human is having only one desire – to survive today. All our luxuries and so called needs and demands are curtailed to having basic necessities along with food availability for today.

With handful of humans living in their prescribed circles, we can see: clean water bodies, presence of dolphins on shores of water bodies globally, wildlife easily roaming around in forests and sometimes in cities, Olive Ridleys on eastern shores of India, balanced air quality, clean localities with little plastics, vibrant visual of sky and stars at night, greenery all around, chirping of birds instead of noise of rushing vehicles etc. Only a few days of we being underground, these changes are visible.

But the question is have we learned something from this? Have we understood that we are not the masters of Earth? Did you realize that humans are tiny creatures, similar to others for nature. Nature was always most powerful, it still is and will always be. We took it lightly but if it will take us lightly anyday, it will be a fraction of second before we get invisible.

Learn to have mutual symbiotic relationships and respect for nature and its players. In Indian mythology and prayers, before any auspicious event we take the permission from nature. We recognise that if there is a will of nature, we can proceed and not vice versa.

We still are living when chained inside the walls of our homes. It signifies that mad race of humans never had a real destination but a virtual, man made goal image. Survival still is possible with peace and harmony all around. Respect, if we give then we will get. Otherwise we have seen the trailer, I am sure none of us want to see the whole movie. Decide, whether we wish to be blissful survivors or destroyers of our human race.

Do live happily and let others (nature and it’s other species) also be happy. That’s the one and only way for the whole human race to enjoy it’s freedom and space for centuries.

Cherish Each Moment!

My life’s philosophy:

Cherish all moments of your life starting from the minutest to the biggest one. Not everyone gets a chance to have all the good times. We often lament for what we don’t have in our lives, ignoring the tiny happy moments or successes. This results in our dual loss- one repenting for what we never had and two loosing out the present happiness.

Often, we compare our lives with others. We find that other person is having all good in his or her life in comparison to ours.

Try and understand that even that person may be having the downside in his or her life. It may be the case that the person doesn’t show or the other side isn’t visible.

Remember, you are unique. You are one personality on this earth. The fact that you are born as a human being on this earth is in itself a great blessing. You are special firstly for yourself, then for your creator and lastly for those who care for you. Identify yourself, be grateful for the life and its good parts or times.

May be the happiness or good moments which you are living and taking for granted, someone might not be getting!

So if you are having one good moment in your life, feel blessed and the most luckiest person to get it. Just enjoy that moment with the open heart to its fullest like a child.

This lifestyle will have one more benefit for the person. Living this way will in turn be your lifetime memory and act like a healer in your lows. You can remind and motivate yourself by remembering the good moments. An instant inner hope and love inside your heart at that very moment of grief will overpower the suffering. This feeling will elevate and uplift you drastically by giving strength to regain and confidently saying again to yourself, “I am back!”

Saints: One of us or different beings?

“Being a saint! Oh, not my cup of tea.”; “Saints are different”; “To be saints, you need to leave everything, live in mountains and spend 20 years in austerity.”

We often encounter similar statements in our life. Whenever there is a discussion about whether saints are similar to us or how a person can be a saint. Due to lack of proper discussion, we go remote from the above topic and seal the question in an envelope.

We need to understand firstly that who is a saint? There can be numerous definations, but let’s keep it simple.

Any person who lives in present, is thoughtless, is above the cycle of joys or sorrows, speaks the truth, has love and compassion for all, is detached while living with people, is innocent, has no ego, is balanced and ethical in his behaviour, is creative, respects all living beings and nature equally, is away from all the ill habits, wrong practices, and greediness can be said as a saint. This defination may have many additions as per the individual.

Yes, Saints are different from others. But the journey to be one is not different. A saint is a saint not because he wears some different coloured clothes or lives in mountains, eats less, speaks nothing or very less. The person is a saint due to his attributes, characteristics, inner values, ethics, habits, behaviour etc.

We need to understand that each individual has two sides: the positive and the negative. A person with inclined more to his positive side is saintly than others and vice versa. In 21st century, any person with the above characteristics and still living a normal life amidst the world is a saint.

  • In a world full of greed, if a person is not greedy, he is similar to a saint.
  • Any person with equal and unconditional love, care, compassion for others, known or unknown is like a saint. Example: a mother’s love when extends to other children along with her own children, she becomes a universal mother.
  • If someone has the daring enough to say that the negative thing is wrong, is courageous enough to speak the truth, he is saintly in nature.
  • A person who dosen’t swing on the pendulum of past and future, and remains in present, is of course saintly.
  • A person who does not swim in the river of thoughts, and try and remain thoughtless, is really different. Just think, how many of us have absolute silence inside us, we always are entangled in a chain of endless thoughts?
  • Amidst the world full of shrewdness, falsehood, hypocrisy and artificiality, if a person is innocent yet intelligent and knowledgeable, is definitely different from others.
  • Any simple person or the one holding an important position, and yet not having ego for the work he has done or for some other reason, is saintly. These days, even when there is nothing, people have big superficial, virtual crowns of huge ego. They are unable to surpass “I, myself and mine.”

It’s not that we don’t know what all characteristics the saints posses. It’s just we don’t have the courage to accept and abide these practices in our daily life. We fear of what people will say or we may be excluded or neglected.

In present world, any human being with saintly attributes, living among the people is no less than a saint. Only the thing is he or she needs to discover himself or herself. He or she has to believe in himself or herself that, “These characteristics of mine are precious indeed. If l am having these attributes, I am the blessed person in this world.” Appreciate, adore and accept your values.

And those who aim to be one, don’t worry. There is one simple formula: “practice, self introspect and change.” That’s it! One day you yourself will feel that there is a change. It’s just about playing with the balance of positive and negative inside oneself. If one achieves it, drastic improvements are possible.

Do always remember:

You must not be cruel to others.

Practice, Self introspect and change!
