Decide, what you want?

It’s been more than three months approximately and the whole world is still trying to combat a pandemic crisis. Time has been tough and challenging for us. Sometimes it feels like time has stopped.

But time is a great healer. With each day passing on, it is significant that we will succeed. After all each dark night is followed by a bright morning. We must hold our hopes tighter. It’s natural to fear, it’s okay to loose courage, but be like a warrior and rise again. Your fear and lows must not pull you deep down, but you must take a flight to the high sky.

I believe that every situation or exposure teaches us the golden rules of life. This global crisis is also providing us few learnings which if are adopted can make a better tomorrow.

Humans, with the aid of technology off lately started taking things for granted especially the nature and it’s other factors. If we analyze the past few years, the nature has been warning us by some natural calamities like forest fires, sea upsurge, uneven climate and rains, rising extreme temperatures, high levels of pollution etc. But we have adapted to a habit of ignoring small signs of warning. Why? Because we somewhere believe that we are sufficiently powerful to deal with anything. Nature for humans was a thing at their disposal. We forgot that we beings were a part of nature and not it’s owners. We must respect it and live in harmony, instead we exploited nature and our fellow beings devastatingly.

So, with a very microscopic creature named Coronavirus, nature has reminded us about our role on Earth. It showed that no matter how many weapons we manufacture or advancements are done in technology, we still are the part with limited powers.

The result is for the past few months, humans are caged in open prisons called homes and nature and its fellow beings are out in open. The highly ambitious human is having only one desire – to survive today. All our luxuries and so called needs and demands are curtailed to having basic necessities along with food availability for today.

With handful of humans living in their prescribed circles, we can see: clean water bodies, presence of dolphins on shores of water bodies globally, wildlife easily roaming around in forests and sometimes in cities, Olive Ridleys on eastern shores of India, balanced air quality, clean localities with little plastics, vibrant visual of sky and stars at night, greenery all around, chirping of birds instead of noise of rushing vehicles etc. Only a few days of we being underground, these changes are visible.

But the question is have we learned something from this? Have we understood that we are not the masters of Earth? Did you realize that humans are tiny creatures, similar to others for nature. Nature was always most powerful, it still is and will always be. We took it lightly but if it will take us lightly anyday, it will be a fraction of second before we get invisible.

Learn to have mutual symbiotic relationships and respect for nature and its players. In Indian mythology and prayers, before any auspicious event we take the permission from nature. We recognise that if there is a will of nature, we can proceed and not vice versa.

We still are living when chained inside the walls of our homes. It signifies that mad race of humans never had a real destination but a virtual, man made goal image. Survival still is possible with peace and harmony all around. Respect, if we give then we will get. Otherwise we have seen the trailer, I am sure none of us want to see the whole movie. Decide, whether we wish to be blissful survivors or destroyers of our human race.

Do live happily and let others (nature and it’s other species) also be happy. That’s the one and only way for the whole human race to enjoy it’s freedom and space for centuries.

Cherish Each Moment!

My life’s philosophy:

Cherish all moments of your life starting from the minutest to the biggest one. Not everyone gets a chance to have all the good times. We often lament for what we don’t have in our lives, ignoring the tiny happy moments or successes. This results in our dual loss- one repenting for what we never had and two loosing out the present happiness.

Often, we compare our lives with others. We find that other person is having all good in his or her life in comparison to ours.

Try and understand that even that person may be having the downside in his or her life. It may be the case that the person doesn’t show or the other side isn’t visible.

Remember, you are unique. You are one personality on this earth. The fact that you are born as a human being on this earth is in itself a great blessing. You are special firstly for yourself, then for your creator and lastly for those who care for you. Identify yourself, be grateful for the life and its good parts or times.

May be the happiness or good moments which you are living and taking for granted, someone might not be getting!

So if you are having one good moment in your life, feel blessed and the most luckiest person to get it. Just enjoy that moment with the open heart to its fullest like a child.

This lifestyle will have one more benefit for the person. Living this way will in turn be your lifetime memory and act like a healer in your lows. You can remind and motivate yourself by remembering the good moments. An instant inner hope and love inside your heart at that very moment of grief will overpower the suffering. This feeling will elevate and uplift you drastically by giving strength to regain and confidently saying again to yourself, “I am back!”

The Innocently Powerful Prayer

Glowing Sunrise

“I bow to you and your supreme power.

Please brighten my body inside out and my aura similar to your brightness.

Let me be disciplined and dedicated to whatever work I take in my hands, just like you.

Sharpen my weapons- confidence, agility and courage like you do yours.

Hold my hand and guide me through the narrow and confusing maze to reach my goals.

Eliminate the roadblocks, negativity by burning, illuminate and clear my path with your rays.

Solitude and self dependence are the characteristics we have common, bless me to be like you, Oh mighty with all love and care inside you!

Kindly bestow me with your precious blessings to be like you, under you and for you”, prayed the little hands, long hair and innocent eyes.

Smiling Sun extending his blissful rays answered, “Amen!”

Life lesson by a Tiny Warrior

Today in the morning while I was in hurry to kick start my routine day, one tiny thing held my attention. It was this:

This is a normal, not so good image, right? There is nothing much attention seeking, right? Now have a look on larger picture:

The above image explains it all. One may see the broken tiles or the imprints of white wash or the old fashioned dull wall or the gas pipeline or for that matter, the uneven plants. But can one see the centre point in this, the source of motivation? Yes, it is that small tiny creature firmly standing at the base of the wall. Its peeping slightly out through the hole of wall and trying to understand what the world outside the boundaries is.

This tiny plant is having a lot of similarity with our lives. It gives an explanation to many of our doubts.

Often we follow the patterned rules and roads in our life. We hesitate to take steps or live a life which is not similar to that of others or opposite to the societal rules. We resist to step on the roads not taken. We prefer to blindly follow the crowd rather than following what our real self wants.

Every one of us have got different fingerprints. Just imagine what the nature in itself is explaining to us by this. It educates us that each individual has his or her own existence and life. There is no differentiation by the nature. My question to you is when we are different then why do we follow the patterns or dogmas? Why don’t we understand what does we want or what is our liking, strengths and weaknesses? Why don’t we explore ourselves in the given circumstances and then set our life goals? There is no ‘by default button’ in our life. Goals and life must be led as per what you want (after a constructive research) and what is possible in the atmosphere in which you live. Instead, we follow what other’s are planning for themselves. Often we prefer to abide the societal norms. It’s good to abide but how many times you tried to understand the underlying concept behind the norm. Nothing is permanent, we need to asses whether that norm is still applicable or not. We don’t prefer to take the untraveled roads (life patterns).

Whenever there is anything outside the societal or own made imaginary boundaries, we resist our steps further. Also, we often hide behind our circumstances, our life, family and fellows, the materialistic or immaterialistic resources and give explanations of following the patterns. The tiny plant in image is not aiming to grow under the safe shadow of its elder buddies. It’s even not lamenting by giving excuses like, “other big plants have taken up the resources (food via soil) by expansion of roots or I am not given the opportunity or I was not given the proper care or I am alone etc.”

The tiny one has chosen what it wants in the given scenario. It may be exposed to harsh realities of the outside world. But its gathering great courage and strength to take tiny steps ahead.

There is one more benefit when we follow unpatterned paths. Anyhow the ultimate result is of two types: success or failure. There isn’t a middle path for goals. So, on each path the result is going to be one among the two types.

Also, if we try and understand the unexplored situation in terms of probability (scientifically), then the better chances of winning is in the case where there is lesser number of people competing. In today’s technologically advanced global world, opportunities are numerous. But the only thing which matters is to tap them at the right moment with full preparation. But with the growing population and awareness the competition is increasing rapidly, this is a threat.

You never know that from a tiny warrior (in above image) you may transform into this:

And from a surviving warrior (above image) you may transform by going through a rough road and taking pains into the following:

The paths on both sides ie the crowded one and the unexplored one are tough and there is no hundred percent sure shot success formula. But one thing is for sure, you in the latter case will be satisfied that, “Yes I lived like a warrior, confident about my own potentials, I took my own decisions by brainstorming.”

You will have that contententment of at least trying and pushing yourself to your own decisions. The motivation will come automatically as the decision will be of your choice. You will enjoy each phase of the process. You will learn a lot throughout the process of setting goals, preparation, assessment, execution and finally the result.

Success or failure depends on character and vision rather than external factors like circumstances or near ones.

Dear friend

Dear friend, times are tough and dull. I know, you are trying hard to make everything fall at right place, but it isn’t happening.

Don’t you worry as this will change. Fresh air will fill up your life, replacing the baggage and burdens. Once again, the life will present you with its vivid beauty. There will be liveliness, cheerfulness and peace all around. Your hardwork and efforts will reap into a giant tree.

Meanwhile two things you need to hold which are patience and hope. Have patience, continue to live each day with positivity and hold your hope very strongly in addition to it. It’s always motivating to have dreams, do dream. Do you know why? It is because dreams act like blueprints of your project named “life”. Hope gives you confidence to execute it. Patience acts like a catalyst to move just a little bit more.

Self clicked

Believe it, there is the rising Sun, waiting for you just a little far away, I can see it. Its eagerly waiting for you to meet. Its having full faith in you and so is alone standing there. I too am having faith on you. Come, hold me and walk!

When we will reach there we will see the beautiful world. From there the sky will be more blue with a reddish tinge. The birds will fill in melodious music in the background. The nature will be lively, colouring vibrance in the landscape. We will feel serenity and peace comforting us. You and me sitting on top of a hill along with the rising reddish orange sun will cherish the happiness and contentment embracing us.

Reflection on the eve of Martyr’s day

Some college friends were chatting amongst themselves. They all started a game where each one had to define “modernity aspects” in their life.

There were numerous viewpoints of modernity ranging from shopping brands, having stylish phones, using slangs, doing adventures, getting drunk, having numerous relationships, nuclear families, increasing divorces and break-ups, exploring new places, being loud mouthed, having short temper, maintaining a classy lifestyle, intolerance etc.

There were few more opinions like being educated, application of knowledge, having healthy lifestyle, better jobs etc.

One answer surprised everyone in the group. A simple minded girl said, “The aspects of modernity in her life are having patience, relaxed mind, very less anger, no shouts or slangs or foul words in language, tolerance towards others, respect for all humans, animals and nature, employing knowledge in life, stepping in other’s shoes and understanding their life, non aggressive and non-violent debates, even if the opponents are howling at the top of their voices, dedicated and trustworthy relationships, healthy lifestyle, no alcoholism etc, taking adventures, having fun and enjoying every part of life.”

There was an absolute silence. Everyone in the room was aghast with her points. Ultimately out of curiosity and restlessness, one of her dear friend asked, “Don’t you feel that’s not modernity but boring old fashioned pattern of living?”

“Who defined it?”, asked the girl.

Her highly impatient friend now said,” Everyone does the opposite these days. These characteristics are no longer practiced or applicable. They are dead now.”

“No, they aren’t. It’s just people have started blindly following what everyone else is doing, without understanding whether that thing is necessary or not. We humans are behaving as per others perception. Shout, cheat, be angry because that shows one is courageous. Have drinks, maintain many non serious relationships because that shows how cool one is. Maintain brands, classy lifestyle or speak slangs or foul words, tell lies every second for no reason, be egoist, do not respect others as all this signify high status and superior attitude. This is the reality. We have to be broad minded and analytical. Understanding real meaning of quality modern life is absolutely necessary”, replied the innocent girl.

To her amazement, her dear friend asked, “But how can one with less temper, being patient, soft spoken, having less arguments, maintaining low pitch be modern?”

“Just have a look around yourself. What do you find? People are stressed, full of anger, hurt, sad, shattered, extremely impatient etc. They aren’t relaxed and calm. Style, class, status are exhibited when fewer individuals practice it amongst many. When individuals are few and different, they outshine. How many people have you seen happy inside-out, soft spoken, social and successful but not egoist, intelligent but not arrogant, efficient non-violent debators etc? Handful right! So, who is having higher standards? It’s pretty difficult and adventurous to be calm and pleasing person among shouting, fighting, lying, arrogant dark images. That’s why it’s stylish to be different”, answered the naive girl.

Her friend asked, “Two final queries, how can one imbibe these qualities? And secondly, can one sustain in modern society with these attributes?”

The simple girl with a broad smile said,” It’s very easy to imbibe. Just keep your eyes and focus on judging yourself rather than others. Criticize and correct yourself. Introspect, change, grow and work upon yourself each day. Compete with yourself to overcome lures and wrong habits. Each individual on this Earth has a positive point, start searching for that very point, try and understand other’s life, respect and tolerate relationships as you are also tolerated by others. It’s a mutual effort to be happier. Spread smiles for free, people need it.

And for the second question will these characteristics sustain in present societies. Yes of course, it will perfectly shine and succeed. These are the golden gems of all time. These characteristics were established and made to sustain in any era. Do you know we celebrate 30th January as Martyr’s day in India. It’s the death anniversary of the great Mahatma Gandhi. You know why he is called great because he helped India to achieve its freedom on the foundation pillar of unity and non violence. These characteristics do not make one dumb and exposed. Rather these give a person valuable insights to surpass any blocks or situations. The ones who practice it become more learned and proactive, becoming a brighter people with sharper minds.

Lets now become modern in real sense of the word.
